About the programme


The Degree of Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) is a non-residential Professional doctoral degree in Christian Ministry. it is designed to enhance professional competence of pastors and other- Christian workers wo are engaged in diverse forms of Christian ministries through an integrated process of study and theological reflections. Through creative, contextual and transformation oriented continuing theological education, it aims to contribute towards renewal of the church and society as a whole.

Eligibility


1. Academic Qualification: The Candidate has to pass B. D / M C S/ M.TH/M.Div (ATA).

2. Experience: a)  After B. D. studies, five years of ministerial experience is compulsory. b) After M. Th, three years of ministerial experience is compulsory. c) After M C S, three years of ministerial experience is compulsory.

3. M. Div (ATA) students have to write a separate qualifying examination. For DMIN qualifying examination kindly contact Senate office dp_ssc@gmail.com

4. While applying, all the required documents should be attached as mentioned in the application form.

5. Exam Fee: Exam fee to be paid to Senate of Serampore College account as mentioned in the application form. Copy of the online transfer/Demand draft should be attached with the hard copy of the application form.

6. Applications will be available on the Senate website from Aug-Sept (2024)

7. The entrance examination will be usually in Oct-Nov (2024)

Qualifying Examination for ATA M Div to D.Min Studies  Requirements


1. A candidate should have five years of ministerial experience after M.Div.

2. Attested copies of academic certificates and copies of academic transcript must be submitted along with the application form .

3. A candidate must have either B.Th. or a bachelor degree prior to M. Div studies.

4. No candidate without a minimum of HSC (12th standard pass) shall be considered for D.Min qualifying examinations.

5. Candidates shall write four qualifying papers and must obtain B- (52.5%). Maximum of three changes will be given to pass the qualifying examinations.

Qualifying Examination Form 

 Registration & Duration of the Programme


1. After clearing D.Min Entrance Examination/ ATA M.Div to D.Min qualifying Examination, the  candidate may apply to Department of Research/ SATHRI on the prescribed form.

2. The duration of th D.Min Degree programme shall be three years commencing from June every year and shall be expected to complete the degree requirements within five years from the date of registration.

Extension of Registration


A candidate who is unable to complete his/her dissertation project within the stipulated time of five years from the date of registration, may apply for an extension to the Dean of Department of Research/ SATHRI before the expiry of the registration with the endorsement from his/her Supervisor. The extension of registration shall depend upon the decision of the Committee for Research. A candidate may be granted a maximum of 2 years of extension. The extension fee will be levied in such cases as per the policy of the Senate of Serampore College. 

Re- Registration


1. The -registration of a candidate who is absent for two consecutive colloquiums shall stand terminated.

2. Those candidates who are being terminated for their absent in two consecutive colloquiums shall be permitted to re-register as new candidate.

3. In the case of candidates who have completed course requirements, and comprehensive examinations but have failed to submit the thesis even after 7 years may be permitted to re-register subject to recommendation from the Supervisor and payment of re-registration fee. The candidates my be granted maximum of two years special permission to submit the thesis. In such cases, the candidates shall be required to attend the Research Methodology Seminar of that academic year
