The Structure of the  Programme


The D. Min. Degree programme is an empirically based project-oriented programme. The students will be required to submit four assignments, four books reviews, and three comprehensive exams.  The programme shall cover 60 credit hours which include a dissertation project equivalent to 20 credit hours.

Book review 4×3 = 12

Assignments 4×4 = 16

Comprehensive Exams 3×4 = 12

Thesis =20

Total 60 credit hours

The courses shall be focused on four major issues (see below) and it will be covered during colloquiums and field research as specified below:

The course will follow the methodology of hermeneutical circle (praxis model): Global Context – Biblical and Theological Reflection – Specific Context – Transformative Action.

Each course will consist of 7 days intensive colloquium at SATHRI, Serampore.  The Professors shall provide orientation to the theoretical framework and its implications for Christian ministry.

Based on the coursework after each colloquium, student shall work on a project assignment related to an issue in their own context. Each student may choose a Mentor for obtaining guidance for the course work.

There shall be four (4) colloquiums and the Research Methodology seminar during which the student attendance is compulsory.
